Out of the Darkness Comes Light: Independent Designer Raises Money for Animal Charities During COVID-19 Outbreak

Independent illustrator Lucy Nicholson of Lucy Maggie Designs is donating 70% of all profits raised from her exclusive ’Stay Home Club’ stationery collection to animal shelter and protection charities to support the valuable work they are doing during the coronavirus outbreak. The fundraiser not only aims to raise money for the staff and animals of such charities during this difficult and unprecedented time, but also to create a feeling of solidarity between members of the public who are staying at home to prevent the spread of the virus.

“Lack of food donations for animals in need caused by panic buying and people abandoning their pets for fear of them carrying the virus, as well as many charities operating with skeleton staff, has left animal shelter and protection organisations struggling more than ever,” said Lucy. “As a pet owner, I find this very worrying and I really wanted to do something to help. The ‘Stay Home Club’ is all about uniting people, whilst also doing something that can make a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable animals.

“We are all in this together,” Lucy continued. “Sending a little pick me up to a lonely neighbour, friend or family member might just make their day!”
