GCA member publisher and retailer Tim Gould of Objectables is putting his own spin on the Happy Card Project this summer, inviting customers of all ages to design a greeting card that will bring a smile to someone’s face.
Running throughout the school holidays, the initiative takes inspiration from the Happy Card Project created by Heidi Early of Earlybird Designs, but with a format tailored to Objectables’ own customers and local community.
Celebrating Creativity in the Community
The brief is simple: create a card that will make someone smile.
Entries will be welcomed from people of all ages and abilities before being shortlisted by the Objectables team. Customers will then be invited to vote for their favourite designs.
To ensure creativity is celebrated across generations, there will be winners from a range of age groups, including:
Each winning designer will receive a pack of their professionally printed cards.
Spreading Smiles During Thinking of You Week
Rather than selling the cards, Objectables plans to print several hundred copies of the winning designs and distribute them during Thinking of You Week (21-27 September).
Customers purchasing a greeting card in-store during the week will receive one of the specially designed cards, helping to spread even more smiles throughout the local community.
The initiative is a wonderful example of how retailers can take inspiration from the Happy Card Project and adapt it in their own way, bringing customers together while celebrating creativity, kindness and the power of greeting cards.
Whether created by a child, a teenager or an adult, every design will share the same goal: to make someone smile.
