The greeting card industry was loud and proud at the Pride In London parade on Saturday 1st July – with 10,000 cards handed out at the event.
Having secured 50 official walking places, publishers, retailers and trade suppliers all signed up and were proudly sporting the special Greeting Card Association Send A Card With Pride initiative.
Mark Callaby, who runs Ohh Deer with his partner Jamie Mitchell, heads up the Greeting Card Association’s diversity and inclusion committee, commented:
“I’m a proud member and supporter of the LGBTQ+ community and have been wanting to do something that really supports and showcases this part of our industry for a while. ‘Pride in London’ is the largest Pride event in the UK and I’m incredibly excited that our application was successful.
Greeting Cards send a powerful message to anyone who receives them and as an industry we’re already producing a really rich and inclusive collection of cards that send messages of love and support.”
