Award winning card and stationery shop, Austin & Co of Great Malvern, Worcestershire is using the Thinking of You Week message to encourages customers to ‘send a card, deliver a smile’ at Christmas.
Sean Austin, owner of Austin & Co in Malvern, thought about those who might not receive many Christmas cards, but would appreciate some extra Christmas cheer. Taking his cue from the Greeting Card Association’s ‘Thinking Of You Week’ held every September, the solution was to extend the sentiments of that week to Christmas.
“We will be asking customers to write one of their spare Christmas cards to someone they don’t know, but someone who would really appreciate receiving it. Cards can be posted in the store and we will then work with local charities, such as Age Concern and Community Action Trust, and local care homes too, to identify those who we can send the cards to” said Sean
“We also have no quibbles of where the cards were bought either. It’s all about getting those unused cards at the bottom of a Christmas card pack out to as many people as we can; sending a Christmas card, delivery a smile”
