On Saturday, 21st September 2024, Stationery Supplies in Wilmslow was buzzing with creativity and community spirit as part of the nationwide Thinking Of You Week celebrations. The highlight of the day was a special appearance by Lancashire-based greeting card artist Tracey Colliston, the talent behind the award-winning brand Ginger Betty.
From 10am to 2pm, Tracey delighted visitors by sketching personalised miniature artworks featuring her signature woodland characters. In exchange for a suggested £5 donation to East Cheshire Hospice, guests received a one-of-a-kind keepsake. The event was a resounding success, with over 30 personalised sketches helping to raise an impressive £280 for the hospice.
“It was a truly lovely experience,” Tracey said. “I’m so pleased with the money we’ve raised.”
The day offered more than just art. Visitors enjoyed:
- A raffle to win a signed, framed original watercolour by Tracey
- A stationery lucky dip full of surprises
- Homemade ginger biscuits
- Live cello performances by Frances, the talented daughter of shop owner Sarah
Sarah Laker, owner of Stationery Supplies, reflected on the day:
“Customers were also able to have a go on our stationery lucky dip, try some delicious ginger biscuits or buy some raffle tickets while listening to live cello music. It was a really busy day in the shop and it was lovely to see the reaction on customers’ faces when they saw the wonderful sketches by Tracey.”
The event captured the essence of Thinking Of You Week perfectly – a time to reach out with kindness, a time to ‘Send a card, Deliver a Smile’.
