Jackie Collins, owner and co-founder of Cherry Orchard Publishing reveals it was her own personal experiences during lockdown that inspired the decision to launch the new Friendship range to coincide with the run-up to the GCA-instigated Thinking of You Week (September 21-27).
“During the weeks of lockdown, I had so many wonderful chats with our retail customers,” said Jackie. “It was so lovely to reconnect with so many of them; to share experiences and concerns, not just on the business front but personally too. It made me realise how much friendship and support makes such a difference especially when we’re going through troubled times.”
Paying tribute to the GCA for the trade association’s PR activities, Jackie said: “The GCA has done wonderful work in promoting the merits of card giving and Thinking of You is very much part of this.”
Jackie believes that Thinking of You Week “will be extra poignant this year as people look for a way to say thank you for being there.”
Drawing on the inspiration from the whole lockdown experience and Thinking of You Week a special friendship collection of cards (comprising 40 designs) have been created by Cherry Orchard “to help people show how much they care and appreciate the support that we can all give one another,” explained Jackie.
Coinciding with the debut of the new range, Cherry Orchard is launching a Thinking of You Week Window Competition. This will start on 7 September and run right through to the end of the Week (on September 27) with a prize of a £250 M&S voucher for the winner.
Retailers can enter the Cherry Orchard competition by sending photos of their windows to firstname.lastname@example.org or through social media on Cherry Orchard’s Facebook page. The winner’s name will be chosen on 30 September.
